Alphin Brogdon went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2013, with his family at his side. He was a native of South Carolina and the son of the late Abell Brogdon and Mamie Brogdon. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Alberta Brogdon.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from Coastal Lumber Company.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Mary L. Walker (Tyrone), of Suffolk; a son, Chipalinda Brogdon, of Portsmouth; a sister, Virginia B. Perry, of Philadelphia, Pa.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
