The Suffolk Christian Academy softball team used key hits that moved runners to produce a 14-4 blowout win against visiting Atlantic Shores Christian School on Tuesday.

The game was close in the fourth inning and SCA had runners on second and third base. Junior team captain Kelly Lester hit a triple over the left fielder, yielding two runs batted in. Two outs and a hit later, senior team captain Caitlin Hankins launched a triple to right center.

Suffolk Christian sophomore Ashley Parsons registered a two-RBI base hit in the second inning.

“These girls are all over the ball right now, offensively, and our defense is improving each game,” Lady Knights head coach Robbie Lester said.

Sophomore pitcher Brianna Farrenkopf got the win in the circle, going four innings and allowing three hits, four runs and throwing five strikeouts. Seventh-grader Penelope Franklin got the save, allowing only three hits and throwing five strikeouts.
