SMITHFIELD — Lottie Mae O’Berry, 89, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

The daughter of the late Roy Lee and Myrtle Pittman Saunders, Lottie had been a resident of Isle of Wight County all of her life. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Owney, and two brothers, Benjamin Saunders and Junius Saunders, of Windsor.

Lottie retired from Planters Peanut Company and was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church.

Lottie leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Evelyn Bryant, of Carrollton, and Kaye Stanley Rowland, of Smithfield; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Family and friends will gather for visitation, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Colonial Funeral Home. A service celebrating Lottie’s life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Donald Rhoton and the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Isle of Wight Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, VA 23431.
