The deadline to purchase tickets for the Omega Chapter Inc. Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc.’s annual Porter-Ward-Vann Memorial Scholarship Banquet is Sept. 19.

The event will be held on Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Dry Dock Club, 1461 Andrews St., Portsmouth. Tickets are $40.

Honorees this year include Daisy Colbert, Lenora Jones, Cherry Lewis, Bettie Ruffin, Marilyn West, Rev. Marlene Everett and Thomas Hall, of Suffolk, and Eleanor Griffin and Daisy Tarver of Chesapeake.

In addition, scholarships to students enrolled in school for nursing will be awarded.
