SUFFOLK — Ruby Pearl Dutton, age 92, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Robert P. Osborne and Rosa Bates Osborne. She had been a resident of Suffolk for the past 16 years, a former resident of Pound. She was a loving mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed needle crafts and quilting along with her love of bowling until age 91.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Dutton, and stepdaughter, Shirley Barton.

Survivors include one son: Grady E. Dutton, of Eidson, Tenn.; four daughters, Joyce Mabe and husband, Jack, of Suffolk, Judy Stewart and husband, Frank, of Heathsville, Janice Vaughan and husband, Robert, of Suffolk, and Carroll Thorne and husband, Carl, of Romney, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at the Clintwood Funeral Home with David Mullins and Harold Rose officiating. Burial will follow at the Stone Cemetery, Skeet Rock Community, Clintwood. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a song service at 7 p.m. Condolences may be sent to www.clintwoodfuneralhome.com.
