SMITHFIELD — Hazel Lee Dailey Delk, 94, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014. Hazel was born in Chuckatuck, April 29, 1920, and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Cora Lee Thompson Dailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Delk, and daughter, Diana Lee Delk Gahan. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine J. Delk-Calkins (Bill Calkins), of Kansas City, Mo., and son, Howard Dailey Delk (Virginia Lee Huff Delk), of Smithfield; grandchildren, Jessica Delk McCall (Josh), Rachel Delk Dewing (Neal) and Dawson Roger Delk, Eugenia Calkins Harrison (Todd), and 1st Lt. William Dailey Calkins (USAF); four great-grandchildren, Violet and Pearl Harrison and Isaac and Adam McCall.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating. The family will receive friends and family following the service at the Delk family home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Mill Swamp Cemetery Fund, 8100 Mill Swamp Road, Ivor, VA 23866 and Oakland Christian Church Cemetery, P.O. Box 2008, Suffolk, VA 23432.
