Robert John Tuberson

SUFFOLK — Robert John Tuberson, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 13, 2014.  He was born in Saint Mary’s, Pa., raised in that city and in Ridgway, Pa. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953, attaining the rank of sergeant. Bob was retired from the FBI as a special agent with 28 years of service, in Washington, D.C., St. Louis, Los Angeles, Chicago and Norfolk. After retirement from the FBI he served another 12 years as a special agent with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Virginia State Police, working in southeastern Virginia.

Survivors include his dear wife of 61 years, Susie Tuberson; a daughter, Cathy Tuberson, of Charlottesville, and her partner, Debbie Taylor; a sister, Alice Keifer, of Topeka, Kan.; a brother, Bill Tuberson and wife, Fern, of St, Mary’s, Pa.; plus nieces and nephews, and a grandniece. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Edith Tuberson; a brother, Earl C Tuberson, and his son, John R. Tuberson.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church Suffolk, The Gideons International, the Society of Former SAs of the FBI, and the Virginia State Police Association.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. by the Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Burial will be at the John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery, Temperanceville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The Gideons International, Suffolk Camp, P.O.
