SUFFOLK — Earl Thomas Spady, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015. He was the son of the late Alice and Frank V. Spady. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Rose West Spady.

Earl was retired from Skippy Peanut Butter after 41 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge since 1957, and Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth. Earl loved the water and beach and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his loving children, Tammie Lewis, Betty Anne McBee and husband, Jimmy, and Earlene Helms and husband, Clayton; sister, Betty Buchanan; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with Pastor Hal Hostetler officiating. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, on Thursday, April 2, 2015, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 500 Plume St., #110, Norfolk, VA 23510.
