Everyone was a winner at the second annual Southeast Miss Cupcake Pageant, but there could only be one Ultimate Miss Cupcake, and that person was Bailee Edwards of Carrsville.

The presentation of crown, sash and other prizes took place last Sunday at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts.

“I think it was a huge success and went extremely well,” said Brittney Cobb, who organized the event.

Natasha Ison-Stratton was her co-host and co-organizer.

Cobb, who hails from Windsor but now lives and works in Las Vegas, came in a few days before the pageant to prepare the contestants. Her company, Fit for the Crown, grooms young ladies who want to participate in pageants or learn the social graces needed for society and the business world.

“I think the thing that surprises me and really touches my heart is when I’m on stage and seeing these little girls get out there and shine through their own personality and self confidence,” Cobb said. “It just fills my soul. It brings me to tears sometimes. I think it’s just so awesome.”

She added, “Everyone did an amazing job. I had nothing but positive feedback from the girls’ parents. And it was a great experience for the girls. For some, it was their first time [being in a pageant].”

Cobb said pageants presented on TV are “the complete opposite of what we bring. Everyone took a lot of positive things away.”
