Get ready to have fun to the max at the seventh annual Shake, Rattle & Roll Spring Car Show in downtown Suffolk this Saturday.

Gearheads will get the chance to show off their pre-1975 classic cars, but the whole event is more far out than that. Dig it — there will also be live music, food, vendors and contests, including a rad hula-hoop contest.

The event honors the racers and fans of the old quarter-mile concrete drag race track at the Suffolk Airport, which closed in 1991 because the Federal Aviation Administration wanted to renovate the abandoned runway where it was located.
