Cross crowned Mr. Blue Revue

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.’s Delta Pi Zeta Chapter of Ahoskie recently celebrated its bi-annual Blue Revue at the Hobson Reynolds Elks National Shrine in Winton, N.C.

Gregory Thomas Cross II was named Mr. Blue Revue. He was escorted by Lindsay Alexis Ransome.

The theme was “Zetas Helping Other People to Excel through Mind, Body and Spirit.”

The Blue Revue is where eligible young ladies and young gentlemen of outstanding character and high moral standards are presented. The event is one of many activities sponsored by the sorority to provide scholarships to help worth young contestants meet their financial obligations to institutions of higher learning.

Gregory Thomas Cross II, son of Gregory Thomas Cross and Miriam Corey Cross, of Rockville, Md., was crowned Mr. Blue Revue. Gregory is the grandson of the late Clarence and Ethel Freeman Cross, formerly of Gates, N.C. He is a junior at Gaithersburg High School in Gaithersburg, Md.

Gregory escort for the evening was Lindsay Alexis Ransome, daughter of Leon and Kimberly Ransome, of Suffolk. Lindsay is a graduating senior at King’s Fork High School.

The presentation included contestants performing a special dance in their jeans, T-shirts and sneakers. Each of the participants also performed a talent. The event ended with the contestants and their escorts performing the waltz to the tune of “Beautiful Dreamer.”

Gregory was sponsored by his aunt, Emily Cross, president of the chapter.
