Man indicted on 24 charges

A Suffolk man has been indicted on numerous sex crimes following Wednesday’s meeting of the grand jury.

Corey Jerome Smith, 35, was arrested May 5. According to city spokeswoman Diana Klink, the crimes were against a girl known to him.

The investigation was ongoing, and no further information was available.

The grand jury indicted Smith on 24 separate counts of various sex crimes, including incest, indecent liberties and child cruelty.

Carlton Dennis Dillard Jr. — drive while intoxicated, third offense within five years

Lavon Shawndell Dixon — embezzlement more than $200

Derek Parker Evans — drive while intoxicated, third offense within five years

Kenneth Clark Gay — possession of controlled substance; altered/forged license; drive under revoked or suspended license; drive while intoxicated, first offense; possess or distribute paraphernalia

Keith Rodney Glenn — false report to police

Christopher L. Goodwin — forgery; uttering; obtain money by false pretenses
