A Suffolk woman has been arrested and a man is in critical condition following a stabbing on Pleasant Street late Friday.

Police were called to the scene in the 300 block of Pleasant Street at 11:27 p.m. and found the victim with a stab wound to the torso.

Sonya Stevenson, 36, was arrested on charges of aggravated malicious wounding and shoot, cut, stab or wound following an investigation by the Suffolk Police Department. She is being held without bond at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

The victim, Terrell Bailey, 41, of Suffolk received emergency medical assessment and treatment from Suffolk Fire and Rescue and was then airlifted to a hospital by Nightingale Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
