James Norman Taylor, 65, of the 1300 Block of Lawson Circle died May 20, 2010 in his residence. He was a native of Edenton, NC and the son of the late James and Elizabeth Wilder Taylor. He was the widower of Lottie Mae Taylor.
He retired from Newport News Shipyard after 40 years of service. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle in Virginia Beach.
He is survived by a daughter, Iris Lundy (Antonio) of Chesapeake; two sons, James L. Taylor (Claudett) of Suffolk and Warren L. Taylor (Aretha) of Chesapeake; a sister, Grace Boone of Suffolk; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two aunts, Mae Bell Taylor and Pattie Bailey.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25 at New Mount Joy by Pastor Viola Parker. Interment will be held in Langston Family Cemetery in Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
