Mrs. Charlottie Henderson Ruffner, 87, of Suffolk, formerly of Rochelle, departed this life Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the East Pavilion Nursing Home in Franklin, located in Southampton County. She was born Jan. 2, 1923 to the late Richard D. and Emma Walker Henderson Sr.
Mrs. Ruffner had lived most of her life in the Rochelle and Uno area of Madison County where she was a member of the Main Uno Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ruffner is survived by two daughters; Virginia Underwood, of Suffolk, and Joyce R. Harris, of Landover; one sister, Wyjelia Bell, of Dale City; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010 at noon at Main Uno Baptist Church in Rochelle with Pastor Darnell Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from noon to 8 p.m.
