“Baby Girl” is going to jail.

On Thursday, Janifer Winnegan, 24, of Poor House Road, Windsor, was sentenced to 30 years in jail years in jail for her role in luring a man to an apartment, presumably for sex, and then robbing him. All but eight years of jail time were suspended.

Winnegan, who went by the name “Baby Girl” on a chat line, lured the victim to the apartment with the promise of sex, said prosecutor Charlotte Purkey. When the man arrived, he was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by three suspects who were waiting for him, she said.

The victim was pistol whipped and beaten repeatedly with a hammer, Purkey said. He suffered significant head wounds requiring 17 skull staples and was robbed of $32.

The four suspects split the money and used it to buy drugs, Purkey added.

One of those suspects, Victor Harper, who hit the victim in the head with a hammer, pleaded guilty to robbery and malicious wounding in a plea agreement last week. He was sentenced to 15 years in jail.

Another suspect, Vicki Harper, will stand trial in December. The other, Randolph Hicks, has pleaded guilty and is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 18.
