Two senior citizens were arrested Thursday after the Suffolk Police Department closed down a nip joint on Clarys Drive.
William Leon Myrick, 65, and Maryland Wilkins, 64, were charged with selling alcohol without a license, according to a police report. Wilkins was also charged with maintaining an alcohol nuisance.
According to police, the police department’s Special Investigations Unit, Neighborhood Enforcement Team and SWAT team served an alcohol nuisance search warrant at a home in the 1000 block of Clarys Drive around 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
The search resulted in the recovery of beer, liquor, and assorted items associated with them and a loaded 22-caliber pistol, said city spokeswoman Debbie George.
