Austrella Peete

Austrella Virginia Peete, of the 200 block of North Fourth Street, departed this life on Sept. 30, 2008. She was born on April 16, 1954 in Nansemond County to the late Willie Nickerson and Rosa Lee Peete. Her father and mother, brother, Willie Nickerson Peete Jr., maternal grandparents, Elijah and Bertha Goodman, paternal grandparents, Robert and Georgie Peete, an uncle, Albert Goodman and an aunt, Hattie Cotton, all predeceased her.
Austrella was a resident of Suffolk, Va., and educated at John F. Kennedy High School, presently John F. Kennedy Middle School. She moved to Norfolk several years ago to be near her sister and had recently moved back to Suffolk, Va., to enjoy a new home and car.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory one beloved sister, Jean Roberta Peete, of Virginia Beach, a special friend, Herbert Pope, an uncle, Walter Goodman, of Duluth, many cousins, including special ones Dell Holland, Vontrice Beasley, Stacey Manley, Courtney Holland, Catina Beasley, and many friends.
Ms. Peete will be on view from noon to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9 at the funeral home. A celebration of life service in her honor will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10 at the funeral home.
