Need a reason to exercise? If it’s motivation you’re looking for, or just a good cause, then there is no need to look any further. On Oct. 25, Lake Prince Woods will host a Memory Walk, which is intended to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and the need for a cure. The walk is for residents of the city of Suffolk, as well as Isle of Wight, Southampton and Sussex counties.
Alzheimer’s claims thousands of people each and every year, and a cure is desperately needed. It can affect anyone, and the chances are that you already know someone who has been affected by it.
Registration for the walk begins at 9 a.m., with the actual event starting at 10 a.m. Friends and family members can walk in honor of loved ones living or deceased who have done battle with the disease. The Memory Walk serves a great cause, and if you aren’t signed up already, then give the organizers a call at 569-1650.
Alzheimer’s is a dreaded disease and oftentimes overlooked. Suffolk residents have the opportunity to make a difference by just taking a walk and raising a little money.
