Jennie Alice Knight, of 442 Dutch Road, Suffolk, Va., died Nov. 30, 2008 at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County, daughter of the late Bertha Pierce and wife of the late James E. Knight.
She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Ms. Knight retired after 38 years in the Suffolk City School System. She was a life member of Suffolk Chapter 5 D.A.V.A., and a former 4-H leader.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Constance Mayfield (Earl), of Winston-Salem, N.C., Sandra Knight, and Deborah Mills (Dennis), all of Suffolk, Va.; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Johnny Knight (Katie); one sister-in-law, Edith Pierce, and other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in Piney Grove Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Larry J. Parker. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at 442 Dutch Road, Suffolk.
