Vincent Salerno, 66, died Dec. 4, 2008 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late Jimmy Salerno and Lelia C. Powell Salerno and was predeceased by his step-father, Paul Powell, and his step-brother, Paul Powell Jr.
He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and was retired as a press operator for Vitex.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, David Salerno and wife, Angie, of Suffolk; sisters, Rosa L. Boyette and husband, Melvin, of Newport News, and Anne Jones, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Ariel and Benji; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sister and brother-in-law.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., by the Rev. Palmer and the Rev. Wayne Gardner, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
