First Baptist teams win

With five seconds left in the game, Morgan Overton put First Baptist Christian School’s girls’ basketball team up by a point over Hampton Christian on Monday, giving the Suffolk team a 34-33 win.

The varsity boys faced Chesapeake Bay Academy. Pete Twisdale led the Crusaders with 34 from the floor and nine of 12 on the foul line, helping First Baptist to a 70-55 win, its first varsity victory of the season.

The Junior JV boys dominated CBA in their own game, finishing off the visiting team 48-13. First Baptist’s Fitz Wheeler had 14 points and seven rebounds; Dillon Farrenkopf had seven points and six rebounds; and Alex Duke and Matt Snead scored six points apiece in the win. Noah Nicket pulled down five rebounds.
