Betty Jean Cooper Peek, beloved and devoted wife for 51 years of the Rev. Dr. Joe Peek, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at Tuomey Healthcare System.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, John Frank Peek, David Alvin Peek, Paula Peek Griffin and Michael Cooper Peek. She is also survived by six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, Sumter, conducted by Dr. Jim Chandler, the Rev. Robert Peek and the Rev. Doyne Graham officiating, with burial followed at the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
