Mr. Elward Ray Wiggins Sr., 711 Goodlin Drive (Lake Kennedy), Suffolk, went into eternal sleep on Feb. 10, 2009 in Maryview Medical Hospital. He was formerly employed at the Perry Lumbar Company. He was predeceased by his wife Lizzie R. Wiggins. His survivors include three daughters, Vivian Wiggins, of Suffolk, Sarah Edwards (Bruce), of Franklin, Vanessa Carraway (Lloyd), of South Carolina, three tons, Ernest Hunter, Edward Wiggins Jr. (Lolether), and Shawn Wiggins, all of Suffolk. One brother, Winslow Powell, of North Carolina, two aunts, Ethel M. Whitfield, of Suffolk, and Evora Haggins, of New Jersey, 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
A funeral of triumph will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Elward and Lolether Wiggins Jr., 106 St. James Ave. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence on St. James Avenue at 11:45 a.m. on Monday for the funeral procession.
