Mary Georgie Gay Jones, 90, died Feb. 26, 2009, at Nansemond Pointe.
Born in Suffolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Everett and Mary Belle Ellison Gay, widow of Arthur Edward Jones Jr., and mother of the late Mary Gay Jones Bell. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Suffolk High School and Mary Washington College, and was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Westover Garden Club and former member of the Tuesday Afternoon Book Club.
