Mamie Elsie Coston, 83, of 5633 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk, died Monday, April 20, 2009 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Leroy and Martha “Emma” Coston.
She retired as a domestic worker. She was a member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ, where she was a member of its Senior Choir, Usher Board and Women’s Fellowship.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Linwood M. Coston; devoted nieces, Deborah Gaine, of Greensville, N.C., and Cheryl Sanford, of Hampton, Va.; cousins and a host of friends.
A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ, 7945 Corinth Chapel Road, Suffolk, officiated by the Rev. John T. Myer.
