The Rhonnda Claiborne, Realtor Pro Winged Champ Karts held their second race of the season as part of last Sunday’s Hampton Roads Kart Club meet at the Speedway. Adam Chalkley picked up the victory, while Alan Purser, David Phelps, Ron Foxx and Jake Harberts rounded out the top five.

Langley Speedway will be closed next Saturday, May 2, as the local racing community convenes at Richmond International Raceway for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series activities.

Action resumes at Langley on Saturday, May 9, when the track plays host to Moody’s All Virginia Environmental Solutions Night at the Races.

With Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday, May 10, Langley Speedway is now accepting entries for its annual “#1 Mom” contest.

To enter your favorite mother, just write a brief paragraph telling why she’s tops in your book and e-mail it to Lisa Kincaid at lkincaid@langley-speedway.com or fax it to 865-0072. The contest deadline is Thursday, May 7, at 4 p.m.
