Suffolk Humane announces a special neuter/spay “stimulus package” for May and June. Suffolk Humane will underwrite up to $25 per pet for the cost of up to 100 neuter/spay procedures performed at the Neuter Scooter on May 20-21 at the Magnolia Ruritan Club location and on June 3-4 at the Suffolk Humane office at 3118 Kings Highway in Driver.

Suffolk Humane partners with the Virginia Beach SPCA to bring the Neuter Scooter to Suffolk several days a month. The Neuter Scooter is a mobile surgical bus offering low cost spay/neuter, vaccines and other services. Reservations will be first come, first served. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 757-538-3030.

“We are concerned that pet owners may be delaying spaying or neutering their pets due to the current economic climate, and we thought that we could offer an incentive for a short period of time,” said Lisa Branton, director of prevention for Suffolk Humane. “Spaying and neutering pets is the single most important way to prevent the euthanasia of adoptable animals because there just aren’t enough homes for them all.”
