The Suffolk Blazers defended their state AAU boys basketball championship by winning the 2009 Virginia 14U Division II State Tournament in Richmond at VCU’s Siegel Center April 24-26.

Suffolk went through the tournament with a 5-0 record and the tournament championship game was the Blazers’ ninth straight win overall.

The Blazers will compete for the regional title May 15-17 at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton. The Blazers have qualified for the AAU National Championship in Orlando, Fla. Aug. 1-8.
