Catherine Kidd Leggett, 83, went to be with her Lord on June 19, 2009 in Lake Prince Retirement Center.
Born in Richmond, Va., she was the daughter of Faye and Robert E. Kidd. She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Wheat, of Marietta, Ga. Catherine lived in Suffolk for 53 years, where she has raised her two sons and was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harry B. Leggett; children, Tom Leggett and wife Alice, of Virginia Beach, Va., Mickey Leggett and wife Perry, of Suffolk; granddaughters Katie and Sarah Leggett, both of Suffolk; brother Robert Kidd, of Gainesville, Ga., and sister Margaret Tenney, of Birmingham Ala.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by the Rev. Edward C. Johnson with burial in Forrest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W.
