SUFFOLK — Cynthia Gatling, 45, of the 3800 block of Pughsville Road, died July 21, 2009, at her residence.
She is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and the daughter of the late John E. Goodman and Annie L. Goodman.
She was employed at Sunrise Assistant Living.
She was also predeceased by her grandmother, Carrie M. Hicks.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Arlene Hicks; sons, Aziz Karim Hicks and Rashid Clayton Gatling; sisters, Sara H. Jones, Deborah A. McClain (John), Eleanor Goodman and Scharlese H. Washington (Blane); brothers, James E. Hicks, Charles Hicks and John Hicks; and six grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held in Roland L. Wyatt Garden at Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, at 11 a.m. Saturday with Dr. Anthony Copeland officiating.
The family will assemble at the 3800 block of Pughsville Road for the funeral procession at 10 a.m. the day of service. Wyatt & Sons Funeral Home Inc. is handling arrangements.
