The November 2010 elections may seem like a long way away — and they are more than 15 months away — but the incumbent candidates on City Council still had to file a financial report this month.
The seats in the Chuckatuck, Cypress, Holy Neck and Suffolk boroughs are up for re-election in 2010. Those seats are held by Joseph Barlow, Charles Brown, Jeffrey Gardy and Charles Parr Sr., respectively.
The candidates filed financial reports July 15 for the period between Jan. 1 and June 30. Parr and Barlow each reported no change in their account balances. Parr has $1,255 on hand, and Barlow holds $2,758 in his campaign account.
Gardy’s one expenditure in the six-month period was $50 for gas for the vehicle that carried him on the Holland Founders’ Day parade route. His account balance currently sits at $1,021.
Brown spent a little more money during the first part of the year, paying $50 for an advertisement in the souvenir booklet at a banquet for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He paid $120 for an advertisement in a souvenir booklet at a Sickle Cell Association event, and gave $100 to Businesses Supporting Minority Candidates for a membership. He holds $453 in his account.
None of the candidates reported receiving any donations between January and July.
