On another hot, draining day on the links, Nansemond River struggled to its highest score of the season on Monday at Suffolk Golf Course as Grassfield won a Southeastern District match 316-367.

In the first week of the regular season, the Warriors went 1-1 and shot in the 340s in matches at Sleepy Hole Golf Course and Nansemond River Golf Club.

Shanice Mason led Nansemond River with an 87. Travis Johnson, who was disappointed with a 79 last week at Nansemond River Golf Club in the Warriors’ first match of the season, shot 88 Monday. Will Hunter and Jacob Foster, in the second foursome of the match, both shot 96 to round out NR’s total.
