Jacquelyn V. Williams, 58, affectionately known as “Jackie” departed this life on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va.
Jacquelyn was a member of Solomon’s Temple Church in Smithfield, Va. She retired from QVC Distribution in 1995. Jacquelyn was a member of Aspara Chapter #43 Order of Eastern Star in Suffolk, Va., for 25 years. Jacquelyn was also a member of Electra Grand Chapter and served as Grand Ruth for several years
Jacquelyn was the daughter of the late James Garfield Bailey and Ethel M. Bailey
She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn C. Bethea (Dock III), Suffolk; two grandchildren, Airmen Douglas P. Edwards, Lackland, AFB, Texas and Bailey A. Bethea, Suffolk; one sister, Marionette Mason, Suffolk; one foster brother, Michael Banks (Sylinda), Suffolk; five aunts; three uncles; two special cousins, Benford Williams (Beverly) and Floyd J. Scott (Shirley); two faithful friends of the family, Rita Collins and Bernadine White; and a host of cousins.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Thursday Aug. 20, 2009 at Shivers Funeral Chapel with Dr. K. D. Shivers officiating. The viewing will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Chapel.
