Fatal wreck still under investigation

Suffolk Police are continuing to investigate a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred early Monday morning.

Police advise that at approximately 3 a.m., a motorcycle operated by Aaron Skilbred, was traveling east bound in the 2300 blk. of Holland Rd. when it ran off the road to the left and struck a culvert. Skilbred was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest in a west bound lane of Holland Rd.

Police believe that Skilbred was possibly struck by a west bound vehicle as he was lying in the roadway. The driver of the west bound vehicle did stop at the scene.

Skilbred, age 39, of the 100 blk. of Gene Avenue was transported from the scene but died prior to arrival at Sentara Obici Hospital.
