Erma Winborne

SUFFOLK — Erma Linette Winborne, of the 2300 block of Whaleyville Boulevard, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest and peace on Sept. 17, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, she was daughter of the late Robert Frank and Annie Maude Rodgers Holland, and the widow of James C. Winborne Sr.
Mrs. Winborne retired as a cafeteria manager for the Suffolk Public School system. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Fellowship Club and Hospitality Committee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, James C. Winborne Jr. and his wife, Willetha D. Winborne, of Citrus Spring, Fla.; grandson, James C. Winborne III, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Keidre Winborne.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Ernest Simmons. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at
