Saints CC has big day in Williamsburg

Nansemond-Suffolk’s girls cross country team won the Walsingham Invitational on Thursday in Williamsburg and NSA’s David Leber set a new school record in winning the varsity boys race in a time of 16:18.

In the girls’ race, the Lady Saints had four runners finish in the top 10 and all seven team members place in the top 20.

Katelyn McCracken was fourth (22:10). Meera Venkataraman was fifth (22:33). Macy Mears (23:04) and Darcy King (23:08) were seventh and eighth. Shannon McDonald, Emily Neuberg and Katy Miller were 16th, 17th and 18th respectively. NSA’s Maya Venkataraman won the JV girls race.

Leber won his second straight meet for the Saints. The Saints finished fourth as a team. Other top boys finishers were Marc Leber (18:40), Wesley Norton (19:04), Jacob Howell (20:11) and Tripp Jones (20:54).
