Suffolk Fire and Rescue fire marshals are looking for information from the public on a fire that destroyed two homes and damaged a third last week.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 119 St. James Ave. about 4:30 a.m. Oct. 8. The fire destroyed that home and one next to it. A home on the other side of the original fire suffered severe damage. The fire also damaged or destroyed four vehicles parked near the homes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s office.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Assistant Fire Marshal C.D. Cornwell at 514-7539, or to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
