Grand jury hands down 102 indictments

A Suffolk grand jury on Wednesday handed down indictments against a man accused in an August shooting on Kilby Avenue.

James Leonard Ash, 58, of the 700 block of Kilby Avenue, received indictments for attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and aggravated malicious wounding, as well as warrants for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and attempt to possess a firearm by a convicted felon.

Marquise Miller was found lying outside a residence on Kilby Avenue just after 2 p.m. Aug. 18. He suffered serious injures to his lower body, and was flown by Nightingale air ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Miller had been shot several times, police said at the time of Ash’s arrest. They believe the men had been involved in a fight prior to the shooting.

Other indictments handed down Wednesday include:

Charlton Lamar Alston — burglary tools possession, conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary

Terrell Lorenzo Artis — marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, ½ pound to 5 ounces

Lawrence Elton Bagby IV — conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary tools possession, burglary

Billie Jo Barbour — drive while license revoked and DWI violation

James Elbert Beasley — attempt to possess firearm by convicted felon

Moran Billups — unlawful wounding

Deandre Jarrnel Brown — embezzlement (felony)

Ethel Marie Brown — unauthorized use of vehicle (felony)

Robert Montez Chapman — obtaining money or property by false pretense

Patricia Coleman — grand larceny

Michael Cowling — drive while habitual offender, subsequent offense

David Andre Faulk — grand larceny

Henry Lee Fulgham — possess/transport/conceal firearm by convicted felon

John Willie Fulgham — burglary tools possession

Raygina Latish Gatling — credit card theft, credit card fraud, forgery (2 counts), uttering (2 counts)

Michael Anthony Goodman — drive while habitual offender, subsequent offense

Terron Lamar Goodman — assault of family/household member, third offense

Garry Tasheen Hamlin — credit card theft (3 counts), credit card fraud (8 counts)

James Randall Harris II — marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, ½ pound to 5 ounces, elude police officer

Sherry L. Hinson — driving while intoxicated, third offense

Maku Dontrell Holmes — burglary of building, grand larceny

Brenda Kay Hulvey — assault and battery of law enforcement officer

Georges Joseph Jacob — possess/transport/conceal firearm by convicted felon
