Suffolk officials are continuing to investigate a Monday afternoon wreck that claimed the life of a Suffolk man.

Shortly before 2 p.m., Suffolk Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident near the 1200 block of Portsmouth Boulevard. The accident forced city officials to close the westbound lanes of Portsmouth Blvd. as well as the downtown Suffolk exit from U.S. Route 58.

After notifying family, Suffolk officials released the name of the victim as 58-year-old Leon Dale McFall of Lake Cahoon Road in Suffolk.
