Elizabeth Denise Proulx Carr, 73, of Suffolk passed away Jan. 17. She was born in Ontario, Canada and was the daughter of the late Annette and Alpha Proulx. She retired as a registered nurse from Maryview Hospital and went on to own Doug’s Exterminating.
Carr is survived by her husband of 39 years, Douglas Raymond Carr; daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and John Henry Brown; sons and daughter-in-law, Raymond Shepheard, Duane and Debbie Shepheard all of Suffolk; grandchildren, Jaime Brinkley and husband, Scott, Jessica, Walter, Cynthia, and Carrie Shepheard; great grandchildren, Jackson, Sydney, Patrick, Donovan, and Lori, all of Suffolk; sister, Rachelle Populin; brothers, Jack and Leo Proulx, all of Canada.
A funeral service will be held Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory at 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA with Rev. Roger Johnson and Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at the Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
