Fred Goodman, 63, of 1617 Riverstone Drive, Virginia Beach, VA died Jan. 18, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of North Carolina and the son of the late James Henry and Genoa Holley Goodman. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Annette Marisa Goodman; his sister, Ellen Quinn; and three brothers, Henry Goodman, James Goodman and Eddie Goodman.
He attended East Suffolk High School. He retired as a Supervisor of New York Transit Authority after 25 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Sabrina Goodman of Staten Island, N.Y.; four sisters, Alice Wilson of Staten Island, N.Y., Evelyn Booker of Hampton, Dorothy Edwards and Ethel Morton both of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Edward Goodman of Richmond and Earl Holley of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Byron Lee, Jr. Mary Mallette Goodman and Shawanna Pipkin; ex-wife, Mary Elizabeth Goodman; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 27 at Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Charles Leavell. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Crocker Funeral Home on Jan. 26 from 6 – 7 p.m. for the wake. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
