William Austin Sr.

William Edward Austin Sr., 55, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010. He was born in Newport News, Va., on Jan. 29, 1954 to the late Arthur and Velvet Austin. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Quen Outerbridge.
Survivors include his wife, Verronical “Pam” Johnson-Austin, of Roanoke, Va.; son and daughter, William Austin Jr., of Newport News, and India (Jerry) Bagley, of Ft. Bragg, N.C., stepchildren, Ronald Goodwin Jr. and Elonda Goodman, both of Suffolk, Va., brother and sister, Arthur Austin and Linda Wilson, both of Newport News, Va., father-in-law, Overseer James J. (Valerie) Johnson, of Suffolk; three Godsons, Darrius and Derrick Bailey, of Suffolk, and Justin Barnett; of Roanoke, Va., one Goddaughter, Brooklyn Brown, of Roanoke, nine Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Garden of Prayer No. 7, Roanoke, Va. with Bishop Shadrack Brown officiating and Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at noon at the St. Mark Church of Deliverance, 3801 Turnpike Road, Portsmouth, Va., with Overseer James Freeman officiating. Interment will be held in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
