MOUNT OLIVE — P. Owen Parker Jr., 69, of 704 Hillcrest St., died Sunday, Jan. 31.
A service of remembrance to be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, 1005 N. Church St., Mount Olive, N.C. Fellowship with the family will follow the service.
Mr. Parker, a native of Nansemond County, Va., was the son of the late Percy O. and Helen Hayes Parker. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a retired banking executive with Southern Bank & Trust Co., headquarted in Mount Olive. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Olive.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Starling Parker, of the home; three daughters, Terri Parker-Eakes, of Winterville, Jennifer Parker Couture and husband, Gerard, of Kill Devil Hills, and Lori Parker, of Pikeville; a sister, Nancy P. Richardson, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three grandchildren, Sara Katherine Eakes, John Owen Couture, and Alicia Katherine Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to any veterans’ organization of choice, or to one’s favorite charity.
