Valerie Joan Merricks, 70, of the 900 block of Randolph Street, died Feb. 7, 2010 in Portsmouth, Va.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Randolph Merricks Sr., her father and stepfather, Clifton Jones and Louis Ruffin, and her mother and stepmother, Gladys Lee and Bertha Ruffin.
She retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 22 years of service. She was a member of Philadelphia Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Mount Joy Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
