One person was injured and another was charged with reckless driving as a result of a rush-hour accident Wednesday morning that snarled traffic along eastbound Route 58.
Three vehicles — a Ford pickup, a Kia sedan and a Chevy flatbed — were involved in the 8:15 a.m. accident, which occurred on Route 58 at Bob Foeller Drive, near the entrance to the Southeastern Public Service Authority’s regional landfill in Suffolk.
Newport News resident Raymond Haywood, 73, driver of the pickup, was charged with reckless driving — failure to yield the right-of-way, according to a Suffolk spokeswoman.
A Virginia Beach woman suffered non life-threatening injuries and was treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
