One of America’s favorite and longest-running Broadway hits is coming to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.
Grease, written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, is the 1950s all-American love story of two teens from opposite sides of the fence who fall in love one summer, only to discover each other again at school.
The show takes place at Rydell High School, where Danny Zuko (played by senior Scott Guter) fronts his gang, the T-Birds, who romance their sassy female counterparts, the Pink Ladies.
When nave Sandy Dumbrowski (played by senior Allison Nutting) arrives in town, the Pink Ladies take her under their wing.
Complete with gum-chewing, hubcap-stealing, hotrod-loving boys and wise-cracking, bobby-sock and pedal pusher-wearing girls, the show will have folks dancing in their seats.
Shows are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
