Owen Ashley Ricks Jr., 60 of 525 Ocklawaha Avenue, Suffolk passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at his residence. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of Willie M. Griffin and the late Owen A. Ricks Sr. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Marvin L. Ricks.
He leaves to cherish his memory six stepsons, Marcel Jordan, Julius Jordan, Wayne Jordan, Troy Jorday, Ricky Smith and George Smith; two sisters, Ruby Davis and Cynthia Luster (Elvis); one grandchild, an uncle, James R. White (Ruth); two nephews, Angelo Lee and Julius Davis (Nikia); a special friend, Alma Epps; and a host of cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in Crocker Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Herbert Simmons. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 319 Bullock Street, Suffolk.
