Police continue to investigate a Thursday night accident that sent six people to local hospitals.

According to city spokeswoman Debbie George, a Chrysler 300 was traveling eastbound on Portsmouth Boulevard about 9:40 p.m. when a Honda, operated by Carnia Riddick, began making a left turn across the eastbound lane onto Suburban Drive. The Chrysler struck the Honda, and Riddick was ejected from her vehicle.

Carnia Riddick was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital via Nightingale helicopter. She was listed in fair condition on Friday. Her four grandchildren, ages 5-11, as well as the driver of the other vehicle, also were taken to area hospitals. No further information was available on Friday regarding the other victims.
