Lizzie Salmon

Lizzie Horne Salmon, 95, became an angel on May 6, 2010. She was born in Duplin County, N.C., the daughter of the late Wilson and Mary Horne. She was predeceased by her husband, James Wesley Salmon Sr.; two sisters; and four brothers. Lizzie worked in quality control for Old Dominion and Birdsong Peanut Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church Homebound Ministry.
Lizzie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James “Pete” Wesley Salmon Jr. and Gloria F. Salmon, Allen R. and Sandra K. Salmon, all of Suffolk; grandchildren and their spouses, Janice Bibbo (Michael), Karen S. Jones (Earl III), Michael Troy Salmon (Christy), Jason Salmon (Stephanie), David Salmon (April); nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Akra Taylor and Estelle Wilkins; sister-in-laws, Margaret Whitfield, Ruby Warren; brother-in-law, Jack O. Salmon Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating. Friends may join the family other times at the residence of Pete and Gloria Salmon. Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Home Healthcare and Hospice at 150 Burnett’s Way, Suffolk, VA 23434.
